• 1902, Will Lingle opened the original Lingle Abstract Office in Union County, Illinois.  Will worked alongside his wife Stella Lingle.
  • 1974, After the passing of her husband, Will, Stella managed the Abstract Office alone.  Stella approached Bob Toler about buying half the abstract business.   Bob accepted and it became known as Lingle-Toler Abstract.
  • 1976, Stella Lingle decided to retire and Bob Toler bought out the remainder of the business from her.  The name continued to be Lingle-Toler Abstract.
  • 1986, Bob Toler bought Union County Abstract Office, owned by local attorney Cord Finch and ran by the then abstractor Rebecca Pelc.  The business incorporated and became known as Union County Abstract Office, Inc. from that point forward.
  • 1988, After the passing of Bob Toler, his daughter, Susan Holderfield took over as owner of Union County Abstract Office, Inc.
  • 1999,  J.R. Holderfield, Susan’s son, joined the Abstract Office.
  • 2016, Robin Hawk, Susan’s Daughter, joined the Abstract Office.
  • 2025, J.R. Holderfield and Robin Hawk purchased the business from Susan Holderfield.
